The Republican Party of Texas Makes a Public Information Request Concerning Possible Cronyism in Dallas County

AUSTIN, TX – The attached Public Information Request was submitted on Friday, May 1, 2020 based on disconcerting indications that in addition to overstepping his authority and being heavy handed with the people of Dallas County, Judge Clay Jenkins has exceeded his authority in the hiring of staff and expenditure of non-authorized funds.

Republican Party of Texas Chairman James Dickey commented:

“There are implications of cronyism in Dallas County and the Republican Party of Texas has requested this information because the voters of Dallas County deserve to know if County Judge Clay Jenkins is using public dollars to reward his political supporters. We believe that tomorrow’s vote should be postponed until all the facts are known. Sunshine is the best disinfectant and we can’t know for sure about any potential impropriety until all the information has been made public.”
