WHEREAS, President Donald J. Trump has directed the U.S. Census Bureau to utilize the DHS database for the 2020 census; now

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Republican Party of Texas urges the Governor of Texas to take the following actions:

  1. Secure access from DHS to the data on non-citizens residing in Texas.
  2. Direct the Texas Secretary of State to compare the DHS data to the State voter registration database and notify all Texas county voter registrars of all matches.
  3. Direct the Texas Office of the Attorney General to secure, as needed, writs of mandamus directing county voter registrars to take action to properly maintain their voter rolls as required by state and federal law; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Republican Party of Texas demands accurate county voter rolls that use a DHS database filter that will prevent Lawful Permanent Residents from illegally voting, thus protecting their immigration status.
