Representative Rick Miller Drops Out of Race for Texas House District 26

AUSTIN, TX – Today, Representative Rick Miller announced he will not seek re-election for Texas House District 26 following the withdrawal of Governor Greg Abbott’s endorsement due to discriminatory comments about his Primary opponents.

Republican Party of Texas Chairman James Dickey commented:

“We appreciate Representative Miller making the right decision not to seek re-election following his unacceptable comments about his Primary opponents. The Republican Party does not play identity politics and does not tolerate racist or discriminatory remarks or actions. We look forward to helping the winner of the Primary Election keep House District 26 in Republican hands.”
