Governor Greg Abbott Makes Firearms Policy Recommendations for 2021 Legislative Session
AUSTIN, TX – Texas Governor Greg Abbott assembled a Domestic Terrorism Task Force following the horrific mass shooting in El Paso. That task force consists of elected officials, law enforcement, 2nd Amendment advocates, educators, and more.
Today, the Governor released a series of firearms policy recommendations for the Texas Legislature for the 2021 Legislative Session. Republican Party of Texas Chairman James Dickey commented:
“We applaud Governor Greg Abbott and the members of the Task Force for recommending measured legislation to counter violent acts in Texas while respecting our right to self defense. We look forward to working with the Governor to ensure thoughtful legislation is advanced which will protect our 2nd Amendment and self defense rights, respect the Republican Party of Texas Platform planks related to firearms, and improve the safety and security of all Texans.”
