WHEREAS, the Governor of the State of Texas called a special session of the State Legislature to address outstanding issues not addressed in the Regular 87th Session; and

WHEREAS, a sufficient number of the Democrat members of the Texas House of Representatives left the State to prevent a quorum; and
WHEREAS, a number of these Democrat members of the Legislature who left the State had been appointed to committee chairmanships and vice chairmanships as a show of goodwill and bipartisanship; and
WHEREAS, the actions of these Democrat legislators who left the State must be construed as a show of rank partisanship on their part; and
WHEREAS, the actions of these Democrat legislators who left the State must be interpreted as a rejection of the Republican efforts to provide free and fair elections to all Texas voters; now
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Republican Party of Texas demand that all Democrat members of the Texas House of Representatives who currently hold either a Committee Chairmanship or Vice Chairmanship position be removed from these positions and that Republican members of the Texas House of Representatives be installed in their places; and
