Republican Party of Texas Chairman James Dickey Comments on House General Investigating Committee Vote

AUSTIN, TX – Regarding the vote of the Texas House General Investigating Committee to ask Texas Rangers to investigate the meeting between Speaker Dennis Bonnen, House Caucus Chair Dustin Burrows, and Empower Texans’ CEO Michael Quinn Sullivan, Republican Party of Texas Chairman James Dickey commented:

“At the Republican Party of Texas, we will not allow division and distraction to deter us from our 2020 mission to elect larger majorities so that we can continue to enact the policies that make Texas the best state in the union. We will stay focused and fight harder than we have in decades to win next year. The House Republican Caucus will undoubtedly also stay focused on passing conservative solutions that make lives better for all Texans.

“Today, the House committee voted to request that the Texas Rangers investigate the June meeting of Speaker Bonnen, Chairman Burrows, and Mr. Sullivan. We look forward to an expeditious process, full transparency, and all evidence being presented. We will stay focused on our mission as that process continues.”
