Republican Party of Texas Announces New Political Director

Austin, TX, Release: August 28, 2023 — For Immediate Release

Matt Rinaldi, Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas, appointed Micah Cavanaugh as Political Director today. Micah replaces Chad Shoemake, who has departed for other ventures.

Micah brings over a decade of Capitol experience both in Austin and Washington D.C., to the Party. He has previously served as Chief of Staff to Congressman Ron Wright, as well as State Representatives Kyle Biedermann and Tony Tinderholt.

Chairman Rinaldi said “Micah’s experience and knowledge of the inner workings of Austin and Washington make him an excellent fit for the Republican Party. As we begin a crucial 2024 election cycle to defend Texas and save America, Micah will ensure the Republican Party of Texas leads the nation.”
