Honoring the Life of Chris McDonald

WHEREAS, Chris McDonald was a beloved and strong leader in the South Belt community, in the Harris County Republican Party, and in the Republican Party of Texas; and

WHEREAS, Chris McDonald was the Republican Nominee for Harris County Constable, Precinct 2, in 2012; and

WHEREAS, Chris McDonald was the Senate District 6 State Republican Executive Committee (SREC) member since 2014, where he served on the Officials Committee and Rules Committee, and was responsible for the creation of the Legislative Priorities Committee; and

WHEREAS, Chris McDonald served on the Senatorial District Convention Rules Committee, State Convention Rules Committee, and as a delegate to the Republican National Convention; and

WHEREAS, Chris McDonald served his local community by serving on various boards, by assisting campaigns, and by supplying his thoughtful rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” to events; and

WHEREAS, Chris McDonald was a veteran police officer, having just retired after 27 years of service with the Baytown Police Department; and

WHEREAS, Chris McDonald was a good friend, mentor, and leader in the Republican Party of Texas; now

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Republican Party of Texas honors the life of Chris McDonald, who passed away on May 22, 2022, and honors his achievements and contributions to our state party; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that we, the members of the State Republican Executive Committee, joined by Republican Party of Texas staff and voters we represent, express our sympathy and well-wishes to his wife Dawn McDonald, who is a fellow member of the SREC, and to his family and his friends; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the State Republican Executive Committee will pause from its duties for one minute to allow its members to pray in contemplation of the life of Chris McDonald, who honored his savior Jesus Christ with his many acts of service, and for his family.
