MIDLAND, TX – Today, Congressman Mike Conaway announced he would not seek re-election following the conclusion of his current term. He served in the U.S. Army from 1970 to 1972 and was appointed to the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy by then Texas Governor George W. Bush.
Republican Party of Texas Chairman James Dickey commented:
“We thank Congressman Conaway for his service to our nation in the Army and in the halls of Congress and his dedication to uphold the values that make Texas so special. His leadership will be sorely missed in Congress.
“As we look to 2020, we will fight to keep the 11th Congressional District in Republican hands. We look forward to working with the Republican nominee who will continue to fight for the values that make Texas such a special place to call home.”
