Unity…or Conformity?
Romans 12:2 (NIV) says:
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will . . .Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
This past week, Joe Biden was inaugurated as the 46th President of these United States of America. In essence, what happened this past Wednesday was that the swamp reinstated one of its very own creatures. Joe Biden has been in Washington, DC, for some 47 years and his major legislative accomplishment was the crime bill which put young black men — whom he referred to as “predators” — in jail. So, I found his speech on unity quite perplexing.
Bill Clinton, obviously, found it quite boring.
There was so much praise and over-the-top emotional commentary given to this inauguration. Heck, even Fox News commentator Chris Wallace expressed that this was one of the best inauguration speeches he had ever heard.
To all of that I have two words: bovine excrement.
What I heard in Joe Biden’s speech, craftily drafted by some far-left progressive socialist, was the redefining of the word “unity.” Unity, for the progressive socialist leftists who now control the White House, Senate, and House of Representatives, is synonymous with conformity. What China Joe Biden asserted in his speech was that unity will be embraced as long as you are subservient to the ideological agenda of the left in America. Otherwise, you will be denigrated, demeaned, disparaged, and declared a white supremacist, domestic terrorist, and there will be a war against you.
Now, consider this: there were some 23,000 National Guard troops deployed to Washington, DC, for this inauguration under the guise of providing security. The left will be milking the deplorable events of January 6, 2021, for as long as possible. And, know this, their true feelings towards our military was evident in their vetting our troops and then dismissing them into a parking garage once their little optic and charade was done.
Has anyone from the Biden administration mentioned the acts of domestic terrorism that happened last week in Portland and Seattle with Antifa, BLM rioters, and da leftist mob? Nope. The left finds unity with that mob violence. After all, it is rooted in their Marxist ideology.
Ponder these words from former CIA Director John Brennan from last week:
“Former CIA director John Brennan said Wednesday that the Biden administration is “moving in laser-like fashion to try to uncover as much as they can about what looks very similar to insurgency movements that we’ve seen overseas.” Brennan went on to describe what he believed was “an unholy alliance” involving “religious extremists, authoritarians, fascists, bigots, racists, nativists, even libertarians.”
“Unfortunately, I think there has been this momentum that has been generated as the result of unfortunately the demagogic rhetoric of people that just departed government, but also those who continue in the halls of Congress,” he continued.”
If you are not in agreement with the left in America, you are an insurgent. You are now classified as a domestic terrorist, but, not Antifa mind you. We are all now white supremacists, racists, and everything else Brennan used to “dehumanize” us.
Unity?
Joe Biden’s speech about unity had nothing to do with unity, it was all about conformity. It is very clear who he and the left feel need conformity. It would appear, based upon John Brennan, that I could be deemed as a religious extremist for even starting this missive with a biblical quote. After all, we did see the left vehemently come after Franklin Graham this week, along with Christian businessman, Mike Lindell. Yes, the left is banning My Pillow from Kohl’s, Wayfair, Bed Bath and Beyond, and HEB grocery stores.
So much for unity.
I did not hear Beijing Biden say anything about censorship in his speech. Biden said nothing about Big Tech and their continued deplatforming of conservatives. He did not address the use of such abhorrent language such as “deprogramming” and “reeducation” by those on the left in America. Why didn’t he? It’s simple, really. It’s because unity means conformity, and if these aforementioned declared enemies, — political opposition — do not conform, then they will need to be deprogrammed in order for us to have unity.
We did not hear anything from Mr. Biden regarding CNN’s demand that Fox News be booted from cable networks, or how the Associated Press wants Newsmax TV and One America News taken off the air.
Yes, there will be unity only when there are no voices, thoughts, insights, perspectives, or ideals in opposition to the left. The left is now redefining our First Amendment rights to no longer mean we have freedom of religion, speech, or expression. Those integral parts of our individual Bill of Rights have now been qualified by a simple new adjective, “acceptable.” And, in the minds of the progressive socialist left, they define what is “acceptable.”
From this moment on, the Republican Party has two choices: “fight or flee.” They will be defined by which one they choose.
Republicans must choose if they are going to be Vichy Republicans, and that is a reference to the World War II French government that collaborated with the Nazis (National Socialists) after the occupation of France. Or, the other choice for the Republican Party is to be more like the French resistance. They did not conform, nor would they be subjugated to the totalitarianism and tyranny of the Nazi German occupation. They fought back. Oh darn, there I go again using factual historical examples to put our situation into perspective. I am certainly moving to the front of the list for reeducation and deprogramming . . . even though I am Black. Then again, according to Biden, I ain’t Black because I do not conform to the victimization rhetoric of the left. Y’all know, I fled their economic plantation.
Your Republican Party of Texas — founded by 150 Black men in 1867 — has chosen to fight. We will not allow the progressive socialist left to classify us into some disparaging category, as listed by John Brennan. We will stand up for our constitutional conservative principles and values, as articulated in our Legislative Priorities, and platform. We will not be apologetic and cower. We will not seek to acquiesce, compromise, appease, or sing Kumbaya with those who want utter and complete control and domination. You only hear the word bipartisan when Republicans are in political positions of control. When Democrats — aka Marxist socialists — are in power, you hear “unity,” but they mean subjugation.
Now, I already hear the delusional and deranged imbeciles of the Texas Democrat Party saying, “Chairman West is inciting Republicans in Texas to violence.” In the words of Joe Biden, “C’mon, man!” I will certainly not be bullied into submission by the Party of the Jackass. Until Democrat Representatives Maxine Waters, Ayanna Pressley, and Cori Bush are removed from office, do not even think about using your empty tactics of threats, intimidation, and coercion on me. The left made it their mantra for the past four years “Resist!” regarding former President Trump . . . Don’t y’all don’t think we have that same choice? Why of course you don’t, because unity means conformity.
As a matter of fact, look at all these Executive Orders signed by Guiseppe Biden in his first days . . . Anyone hear of a judge blocking his orders? Again, why do we not hear anything about leftist Antifa and BLM violence from this past week?
The choice for Republicans is simple, fight or flee, because the leftist rhetoric of unity is rooted in the totalitarian goal of conformity.
I will not be a Vichy Republican. The question is, will you?
Steadfast and Loyal,
LTC Allen B. West (Ret.)
